Maalouf’s 2019 acoustic album “East River”serves as a crossroad for global cultures. This live video album features violinists Arun Ramamurthy and Layth Sidiq, vocalist Mariam Abuamer, and percussionists Shiva Goshal and Jeremy Smith. For this record, Saraz Handpans are the centerpiece of Maalouf’s performance. “East River Sessions” marks the first video documentation of classical musical styles from the Middle East and India played on the modern pantam.
