Uplifting, positive, and triumphant.
With an octave jump from the center G2 to the lowest side note, G3, these variations provide a strong bass foundation to the scale.
The first variation is similar to our popular “Oxalista” scale form, which was inspired by the Oxalis. We consider this our “Low Oxalista”. First built with a G3 center, this 6 note hexatonic scale is a close relative to G Major and G Mixolydian. It simply omits the note that distinguishes them (F#) while also skipping the 4th scale degree on the high end. It is a immensely positive and inspirational scale but without the sugar sweet quality of the full major scale. It leans a bit more toward the triumphant, empowering and celebratory qualities of the Mixolydian mode. Because of the missing 7th note, these scales are very versatile and play well with C major, A minor, E minor, D Dorian, and D Mixolydian.
If you have another variation in mind, please contact us and we will explore if it can also be built.
