The dorian mode is sometimes considered contemplative, energetic, and intriguing. Along with F major, this is one of our few scales that plays flawlessly with incredibly popular D Minor scales. This hexatonic variation leaves out the 4th scale degree.

These scales require significant internal baffling in order to stabilize the Bb4, therefore no bottom notes are available on these variations.
